Dana White (UFC): Nurmagomedov Will Fight In The Fall Of 2020

The head of the UFC Dana White announced that the winner of the fight between Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje in the fall will meet with the owner of the championship belt Khabib Nurmagomedov.

White made this statement after the UFC 249 tournament in Florida was announced on May 9. There we'll meet each other, Ferguson and Haiti.

"Khabib Nurmagomedov will hold the next match in September or October. Ferguson and Gage will show one of the most brutal fights you've ever seen, I can guarantee it. The fight will be incredible. Its winner will fight Khabib for the title," White said.

Earlier, the Russian was supposed to meet Ferguson on April 18 in New York, but the tournament was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, and then the champion was forced to announce the cancellation of the fight with Ferguson. As a result, the American will meet with his compatriot Gatzhi and at stake in their fight will be the title of temporary champion.

Nurmagomedov, who won the championship title in the fall of 2018, meanwhile made a forecast for the fight on May 9. As reported by his manager Ali Abdelaziz, the Russian is sure that in the main fight of UFC 249 will win Gatzhi.

"Khabib is confident that his next opponent will be Getzhi," the Russian's manager told ESPN. - He believes that Justin will be able to knock out Tony. When I asked him who he thought would win, he said it would be a difficult fight for Justin, but stylistically Tony is the perfect opponent for him. Khabib believes that Geitji will finish ahead of Ferguson in the second or third round."
