GTA V has always had more sales!
Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has released its latest financial results. This is significant news since Grand Theft Auto V has once again broken a significant milestone! The game is now in second place among the best-selling video game titles of all time, with its 238 million sales.
A separate Rockstar Games creation is included in the Top 10 best-selling games of all time, namely Red Dead Redemption II. The 2018 game has just recorded a total of 50 million sales, which puts Take-Two's book in the seventh position among the best-selling titles.
Is there a chance of layoffs?
Take-Two claims to have achieved net sales below expectations despite these stats. Instead of $1.41 billion, the company "only" made $1.38 billion in net revenue for the quarter. The Midnight Suns' low sales would be more or less to blame.
Take-Two Interactive is planning to reduce costs in the coming months in order to save roughly $50 million per year, although Strauss Zelnick, the CEO, says the business does not intend to lay off employees on a large scale – good news.
