Multiple spin-offs are coming to the popular killer series ...

The series "Dexter," loosely based on Jeff Lindsay's novels, aired on the American channel Showtime from 2006 to 2013. It was about the serial killer Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), who focused his murder instinct on those who, according to him, deserve to be killed, and it is now available on Paramount+, Sky Go, and WOW.

Three new "Dexter" series!

Dexter will be directed by Clyde Phillips, who played showrunner on both the first four seasons of Dexter and New Blood. One of the three plans is a direct sequel to "New Blood" (hereinafter spoilers for "Dexter: New Blood"!).

This next season of "New Blood" will follow Dexter's son Harrison as he seeks a new life in New York after his father's death. He will likely face demons similar to his father's, as he seems to have a "dark companion" like his father. The series sounds similar to the original, just with completely different characters.

Dexter: Origins will be a prequel to the second series, which will feature young Dexter Morgan, who is fresh out of college and coming to work as a forensic scientist in the homicide field. This provides the opportunity for younger versions of well-known characters to appear.

More serial murderers are on the way, but Michael C. Hall is likely to pass away.

The third new series idea in the "Dexter" universe aims to illuminate some of Dexter's other serial murderers throughout the series. One of the best-known is certainly the "Trinity Killer," played by John Lithgow from the fourth season. Here there would be the possibility to construct Dexter as an anti-hero.

No. After all, Michael C. Hall did not survive the New Blood finale and is certainly too old to play young Dexter in the sequel series. In the same way, Dexter's own father had always made an appearance.
