Lifetime is getting ready to release the next title, Pride: A Seven Deadly Sins Story, which includes Grammy-winner Stephanie Mills, Thomas "Nephew Tommy" Miles, and Keeya King.
In Birdie Moore (Mills), a well-known bakery owner and reality television star, the sin of pride is revealed. When her past secrets are exposed, her world begins to crumble, just like the cookies she discovered in her famous bakery.
"To salvage her legacy, Birdie must release the attachment to her daughter," says the article.
Birdie's pride engulfs her from her thieving son Gabe Moore (Miles) and her misguided granddaughter Ella Boudreaux (King), who is "just a lost twenty-something trying to rebuild her life after some missteps."
Jakes' original films Lust, Envy, Wrath, and Greed, all premiered between 2021 and 2022, include Keri Hilson, Tobias Truvillion, Tank, LisaRaye McCoy, Eric Benét, Michelle Williams, Tina Knowles, Romeo Miller, Serayah, Kandi Burruss, DC Young Fly, Clifton Powell, and other authors. Each title is inspired by books by Christian fiction writer Victoria Christopher Murray.
Derrick Williams discussed his role as the director of the film anthology Envy in 2021.
"When looking at this, it's a provocative subject matter that's happening everyday," he said in a 2021 interview. "We thought that this is a deadly sin that we could also assist people with, because T.D. Jakes' brand is also about assisting people in dealing with everyday things and how these things might work in your everyday life."
"I think everyone can relate to having some envy in your life with certain things you're looking at, or that you're envious of someone," he said, but again, not knowing what's on the other side of that, and only looking at it from one perspective."
Erica Campbell plays Pastor Trey, Lucia Walters plays Shanice, and Jaime M. Callica plays Khalil in Pride.
On Lifetime, Pride: A Seven Deadly Sins Story will air on Saturday, April 8 at 8/7c.
