Update (2/7/23): Good news for EarthBound fans! The Hobonichi Mother Project has announced that the four character plushes — Ness, Paula, Jeff, and Poo — will be re-released in a few days, on February 14th, 2010.
The Mr. Saturn magnet and the Hobonichi Mother permanent paper bag will be restocked as well. Make sure to grab them while you can.
When it comes to supporting the popular RPG series in its native country, the Hobonichi Mother Project has never really given up. Yes, we can now download EarthBound and EarthBound Beginnings on Nintendo Switch, but only Japan will have a Mother Department Store event.
Several new items are being revealed, but tonight's reveal will be tough to top. I present to you all official plushes of EarthBound's Chosen Four main characters!
Ness, Paula, Jeff, and Poo have never looked prettier. In this unified style, each design has been given personal attention, with details such as Ness' denim stitching and Poo's textured hair being highlighted specifically.
The entire set will be sold as a set, complete with special packaging that depicts their homes on the reverse side, as well as some of the manufacturer's most popular plush items, which are usually found in crane machines and UFO catchers.
Once they are available on the Hobonichi Mother Project online shop page, they'll be popular with consumers. This is a great opportunity to stock up on some of the products that have been rolling out in the past couple years.
Beginning May 25th in Japan, the EarthBound Chosen Four plush set will be available for purchase and to adore. The set will sell for $11,000, or roughly $87 before shipping.
