Dell is firing 6,650 employees, according to Bloomberg, as PC sales are falling towards the end of 2022.
The profit margin for Q4 2022 appears to have dropped by 37% from that of the previous year, and the future is bleak. More than half of the company's income comes from PC sales.
Dell has announced that it would cut 5% of its workforce, and that the number of employees will have dropped to a minimum in the previous six years. The company has also attempted to reduce costs in other ways, such as by halting the hiring process and reducing travel expenses.
According to analysts, a move like this will save Dell $700 million on its annual costs (up to $1 billion per year) and the situation will gradually improve later this year.
Other big companies such as Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and others had previously faced a wave of layoffs.
