Apex Legends is getting a fresh season, but this time there won't be a new one, which is unusual given that Respawn Entertainment has dropped them.
Instead, the company is doing something completely different: Season 16 remastered Legend Classes. According to an Apex Legends presentation we attended a few weeks ago, the new season will remake every Legend with classes, bonuses, and meta changes.
Assault, Skirmisher, Recon, Controller, and Support are all classes in Legends.
Assault (Ash, Fuse, Maggie, Bangalore, and Revenant)
"These Legends have a set of core strategies that revolve around utilizing their abilities to force opponents to make defensive decisions or errors. They often initiate plays in order to create an advantage or an opening that their team may then assault."
Skirmisher (Pathfinder, Horizon, Octane, Valkyrie, Wraith, and Mirage)
"They're good flankers, they have a hit-and-run play style, they're quick to get into an argument and can emerge from it just as quickly."
Recon (Crypto, Seer, and Vantage)
"They're focusing on] enemy information and tracking." These characters have no access to ring data, but they can scan a modified survey beacon to discover enemy positions on the map for 30 seconds.
Controller (Wattson, Catalyst, Rampart, and Caustic)
"These are Legends who use their abilities to control their positions and force opponents to fight on their turf."
Lifeline, Loba, Newcastle, Gibraltar, etc.)
“These Legends maintain their squad through out battles or reset more quickly.”
Apex Legends Season 16 will add a new assault rifle: the Nemesis four-round burst assault rifle, as well as a new golden attachment for shotguns.
Season 16 of Apex Legends will be released on 14 February. Watch the gameplay trailer below:
