Nina Williams is the latest character to be confirmed following Jin, Kazuya, King, Lars, Paul, Jack-8, and Law in the Tekken World Tour Finals in 2022.
Nina Williams was previously a part of Tekken 7, but she has a completely different costume and design in Tekken 8, which is fantastic.
In a 36-minute video, Tekken Executive Director Katsuhiro Harada and Tekken 8 Director Kohei Ikeda explained several new gameplay techniques.
Tekken 8 will include a new Rage System, which players may use to execute Rage Arts, which are the game's version of ultimate attacks or supers.
Tekken 8 will introduce a new recoverable gauge, where players may recover some of their health that they've lost as a result of their damage. However, the health gauge doesn't reset automatically, since players will have to hit the opponent or successfully guard their health.
In Tekken 8, there will also be a new gameplay mechanic called the Heat System, which players may use to do more powerful strikes, and their attacks can inflict more damage. (There are five Heat Engager moves for each character).
Two controller styles will be introduced: Arcade Style and Special Style. Both styles follow the traditional gameplay styles of Tekken 7, with beginners able to assign combos to certain buttons.
Akira Nishitani and his company Arika are co-developing Tekken 8. He's well-known for Street Fighter 2/Street Fighter EX/Fight EX Layer.
Both Harada and Ikeda discuss these gameplay concepts in more detail in the video below.
Over Steam, Tekken is expected to be released for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
