Review of Season 1 of The Last of Us

Review of Season 1 of The Last of Us ...

The Last of Us Season 1 on HBO is reviewed. There are no spoilers included.

The Last of Us released in 2014 on PlayStation 3, receiving some of the finest reviews of any game in history. Finally, HBO announced in November 2020 that it would be licensed for a series. Is the adaptation still on the upswing? Or is it another ludicrous attempt at bringing a great video game to life?

Season 1 of The Last of Us Review and Plot Summary

As a global epidemic destroyed civilization, the Last of Us follows a 14-year-old girl.

I was concerned that the game would fall into the trap of overdoing certain parts of the story or try to "hollywoodize" it like they do everything else, but they also enticed new viewers who either had no clue about the game or were interested in it for different reasons.

Each of them praised the fact that they did not have to understand the game to enjoy it, or they did play the game and loved it. It also gives hope to other video game adaptations that we all want to see painted in this light, like The Last of Us.

John Paino and Paul Healy, who produced the video game, had the most difficult jobs of anyone in the series. It's impossible to imagine what was left of the game, but they deserve all of the credit. I'm so grateful to them for allowing me to be fully immersed in this world as much as I was when I played the game.

Pedro Pascal's role as Joel and Ellie was another brilliant choice by the creators because she shows a much darker side to him that we've never seen before. As each episode progresses, you see how Pascal blossoms and the little things that Pascal does within this character, all the way down to his hilarious grin.

Is Season 1 of The Last of Us a Good Film?

The Last of Us is a great TV series, and I simply encourage them to continue to watch it. Episodes 2 and 3 were a bit underwhelming for me to consider this one of the greatest. This is by far one of the highest video game adaptations we've seen (the bar is low, though). I can't wait for season 2.
