Derek Chavez, who is he?
Derek Michael Chavez was a close friend and mentor to many of the 1923 family. He loved going out Sunday evenings with his family. He loved watching the Lobos, the Lakers, and the Cowboys. He also enjoyed watching the Starz drama "Finch," in which he was cast in the same role as the production coordinator. Immediately following the conclusion of '1883,' he joined the cast of '1923.'
Derek Chavez died on the 12th of January, 2023 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, along with his wife Kristen and their children, Ava and Emmy. Both the Chavez family and the producers of "1923" have publicly expressed their sincere condolences and offered their support to Kristen.
