Ashley is becoming more clingy. Capcom justifies the decision ...

Ashley will perform a little differently than in the original and will follow the player's every move in the game's remake. In an interview, two game directors explained why they chose this technique.

The remake of "Resident Evil 4" is in essence inspired by the horror classic from 2005. Nevertheless, the authors wanted to make some changes and improvements that can have an impact on the gameplay.

Ashley Graham, an AI companion, has been replaced no longer as an inventory. Players may give her some basic instructions in the remake of "Resident Evil 4." But she will always follow Leon wherever he goes.

It was a total waste of time.

Ashley was able to lay down in a secure position to shoot out enemies in front of her in an interview with the online magazine Game Informer.

"We wanted her to be a character by your side so that she makes an impression," Ampo adds. "It was somewhat funny that she hid while you were fighting in the original," but leaving her for a while felt like a waste."

"You don't want an AI to get in your way." However, when you can just forget about her and she takes care of herself, you don't feel like you're actually protecting her."

Ashley rewards players for keeping an eye on her with some useful moves that can be played on the surrounding obstacles long before Ashley is rescued, giving players an incentive to revisit areas they may otherwise not have explored without Ashley's assistance.

Keep an eye on kidnappers.

In the Resident Evil 4 remake, Ashley has no health bar. If she takes too many hits, she falls into a state where the player has to help her recover. If this opportunity passes, Ashley is hit again. It's all over.

Ashley can also be picked up by enemies and carried away, which will also fail if she gets too close to Leon. However, the latter may intervene, either by shooting the kidnapper dead or, in a fresh twist, by shoving his knife into the opponent's neck.
