Knockout City will be phased out after just two years, and the developers have announced that they are pulling the plug.
The developers of Knockout City have announced the game's final release date in May 2021.
The remaining season of the championship will also be the last that Knockout City will ever have. The move to a free-to-play model in June 2022 did not help the dodgeball title that was originally released via the EA Originals program.
After Season 9, Knockout City's servers will be taken offline, according to Game Director Jeremy Russo, who praised his staff's hard work and dedication until the end. Velan Studios, an independent and small game developer, recognizes that these challenges are too great.
Season 9 will run from February 28, 2023 and will last 12 weeks. There should be a final announcement before the servers go offline. There should also be six more events that will bring new twists in terms of playlists.
Velan is working on a way to set up private servers, which would then allow players to host friends and other players.
