Redfall requires a persistent online connection despite being viable for solo play ...

Arkane Austin's next open-world cooperative game Redfall has made significant efforts to ensure that it is entirely playable solo as a single-player experience.

Despite the information provided on the upcoming game's FAQ page, the game missed a key.

For single-player and co-op, Redfall will require a strong online connection.

If you don't want to make the invasions available when playing online, it makes sense to have to be constantly online. Deathloop, the game from Arkane studio Arkane Lyon, supports offline single-player.

Despite marketing efforts to make sure this game is viable for solo players, the back end remains geared as a multiplayer game. Players who want a single-player game should avoid 'online only.'

Redfall will also come with a "Hero Pass" paid DLC, which will add two additional heroes with new abilities and gameplay to the list of heroes from the base game.

Redfall is less and less like an Arkane-style sim experience, and more like the usual AAA open-world game others are doing right now.

Redfall is still your jam if you like an open-world co-op game. It will be available on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass on May 2nd.
