The Legend of Vox Machina Season 2 Episode 8, "Echo Tree," is recapitulated in this episode. There are spoilers included.
In "Echo Tree," the Vox Machina have been split into two teams in two vastly different regions of the world. Keyleth (Marisha Ray), Percy (Taliesin Jaffe), and the twins are in the teetering Fey Realm, hoping to reunite with their comrades, while Pike (Ashley Johnson), Grog (voiced by Travis Willingham), and Scanlan (Sam Riegel) are in the wilderness,
Recap of Season 2 of The Legend of Vox Machina Episode 8
The Fey Realm gang was last seen admiring the mysterious city of Syngorn, which is where Vex and Vax's father lived. As they wander the streets of this kingdom, Garmelie warns them that if Syngorn has been teleported, things will be in a worse state. This is a trick established by the satyr, but Garmelie believes this detour is the best route to their prize, which avoids deadly pixies.
Vex and Vax are reacquainted with Devana's father's wife for the first time. She's eager to meet their older siblings. Syldor introduces them to the palace. They discuss how the city avoided the dragons in order to escape the Conclave.
Percy asks for Vex's name to be changed on the page, and she is given the letter by Percy. She replies with the vestige. Unfortunately, Vex continues to seek father's approval.
The trio arrive at a cabin in the middle of nowhere, led by The Fonz himself, Henry Winkler. He's surprised by how weak Grog has become and prepares some medicine for the barbarian. This medicine doesn't work as well as helping Grog cleanse himself.
Garmelie re-emerges in the Fey Realm, giggling at the family feud he's just witnessed. Percy apologizes for naming Vex a hero, but she likes it. Vex honors Syldor and praises him for standing up for her.
Vax is unconcerned by this awful voice and Garmelie warns him of who it is: the cursed archfey known as Saundor (Sendhil Ramamurthy). She walks over the swamp toward his lair. The other two wade through the swamp after her.
Vex becomes entranced by Saundor, who demands her heart. This strange request awakens Vex from her demon spell.
Keyleth helps the others escape and they are confronted with enormous, tree-like creatures. The gang regroups and heads to help, but Vex must fight this foe alone. Saundor and Vex battle with their bows and arrows.
Garmelie reappears out of nowhere and giggles again, this time as a reward. Percy replies that he prefers the Fey Realm that he read in his books. Artagan becomes an archfey.
Pike asks the gang if they can go to Westruun. She fears Grog's strength will not be returned anytime soon, and they must hunt them down before the Chroma Conclave destroys the entire continent.
