Alan Wake 2: Remedys' largest project to date ...

The release date for Alan Wake 2 has yet to be determined, but Remedy promised a massive project that would rival the studio's previous games.

Sam Lake of Remedy recently answered questions from GamesRadar about his motivations as well as the scope of his project "Alan Wake 2". The studio claims it has completed the "most significant project thus far".

Lake explained that for simple reasons he was never able to get back up to Alan Wake: "I feel like I never outperformed Alan Wake." The characters and setting were too valuable to be forgotten.

The dream became more ambitious and unique.

Lake explained that the Alan Wake narrative has continued to evolve over the years, even as Remedy was working on other projects, such as Quantum Break and Control. After the completion of the latter title, all of the pieces of the narrative were assembled.

"It's only when you actively dream it that you keep the dream alive." If anything, Alan Wake 2's dream has only become more ambitious and unique over the years.

A game project such as this is "a very complex undertaking - our largest project to date," and you have to combine many different things. This not only applies to the concept itself, but also to the timing and the appropriate partners.

"Alan Wake 2" was announced in December 2021. The title is a survival horror game since the first part was classified as an action game with horror elements. "Our interpretation of the genre." Remedy said at the time.
