Island of Ashika Island is a tourist attraction.

The new Ashika Island map for Warzone 2.0 is a brand-new DMZ. Players will infiltrate the islands before heading inland. Infiltration is under a heavy fog that can affect combat by providing protection for both Operators and the occupiers: Shadow Company... but what could they be doing here?

The Ashika Island Exclusion Zone has a lot to offer, including:

  • A new Weapons Case
  • A new Boss: The Bombmaker
  • New locked and dangerous spaces to access and explore
  • And more!

21st Century Modernization

Building 21 was introduced as an Exclusion Zone option in Season 01 Reloaded. In Season 02 Missions, operators return to Building 21 as another Exclusion Zone option.

  • S.A.M. Site Crates
  • Chopper Boss Crates
  • Buy Stations
  • Legendary (Orange) Crates

Operators should be prepared for significant resistance in Building 21 and should prepare accordingly.

Al Mazrah

As the Al Mazrah battle continues, operators will be able to exploit the opportunities.

Refresh and Reset

Season 02 will feature a refresh and a Faction mission relaunch.

  • Contraband Weapon Inventories will be rolled back to the starting weapons.
  • Key Inventories will be emptied.
  • Faction Missions and mission progress will be reset to make room for an updated mission set that incorporates all Exclusion Zones.
  • Insured Weapons Slots unlocked through previous Faction Mission progress will not be reset. However, for those who did not unlock an additional Insured Slot in Season 01, the new Season 02 requirements to do so should take much less time.
  • All Season 01 mission and boss enemy rewards – for example previously acquired Al Mazrah weapons case rewards – will not be reset, with the exception of Contraband and Keys.

Crown is the new face of the game.

Crown, a brand new fourth faction in Modern Warfare 2, will be available to owners. This British organization is still unknown, but they have certainly piqued the interest of Black Mous.

This Faction will only be available to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 owners.

Enemy Tuning: How to Get Rid of Yourself

Season 01's DMZ was enjoyable, but the increase of difficulty was often sudden, with some players becoming frustrated. A number of balance adjustments will be made, including the amount of AI spawning, the accuracy of AI at range, and more. All of this should give a challenging but manageable play-space that still requires player respect of enemy combatants in the DMZ.

Spawn Points

Depending on gameplay data, some infil points across Al Mazrah are being tuned for an enhanced early match experience. These tweaks should increase spawn points across the map.

Tuning Mission Difficulty

As the Tiers progress, data and feedback demonstrate that the Faction Mission difficulty ramp was too aggressive for many players, and that the demanding scale ultimately made unlocking the second Insured Weapon Slot extremely difficult in Season 01.

Crashes

To prevent players from losing their items and Contraband Weapons, Infinity Ward will also be addressing a number of DMZ-specific Warzone 2 crashes.
