Eunice Dwumfour, a New Jersey councilwoman, was murdered on Wednesday, February 1. Dwumfour was a victim of a shooting outside her townhouse, which she was 30 years old. She was not identified by police, although colleagues informed the story via social media.
After her death, Dwumfour's friends and colleagues paid her respects with touching Facebook messages. "We are so sorry to announce that our friend, Councilwoman from Sayreville, who is also a member of our Human Relation Commission, Eunice Dwumfour, was murdered tonight in Sayreville," one person wrote.
In 2021, Dwumfour was elected to the city council.
Dwumfour was elected to the Sayreville City Council the year before. In an interview with TAPintoRaritanBay, she talked about why she wanted to run for the Council. “My goal is to make our Borough a wonderful place for our children and our community to thrive,” she said.
2.She was an economic analyst and an EMT.
In a profile before the 2021 election, Dwumfour mentioned her work experience as a business analyst and a part-time EMT.
As a councilwoman, she said that her background as an EMT has inspired her to strive to assist first responders and residents. I will, if elected, assist our first responders and residents with the necessary equipment and support.

Before running for office, Dwumfour earned a Bachelor of Arts in Women's and Gender Studies from William Patterson University in Wayne, New Jersey.
4.She was a member of the Human Relations Commission.
Dwumfour served on the Human Relations Commission (HRC) as a volunteer speaker. She wrote in Facebook tributes to her mother, saying she was "a lady of grace."
5.Police claim she was shot multiple times and then crashed her vehicle.
According to ABC 6, a homicide inquiry into Dwumfour's death is still ongoing. Police were called after gunshots were heard, and she was declared dead at the scene.
