Playstation 5 has had a good quarter of sales ...

The Playstation 5's supply difficulties for its manufacturing are now gone, and this is evident in the console's sales figures.

With the Playstation 5, Sony had a rough start. It wasn't that the demand was inadequate, but rather that problems with the procurement of components caused massive equipment shortages. According to Sony, the situation has now improved, and this is now evident in sales figures.

According to the most recent financial report for the third quarter of fiscal year 2022 (i.e. the months October to December), a whopping 7.1 million PS5s were shipped during the period, compared to 3.1 million in the same period last year. This brings the total number of PS5 consoles shipped to 32.1 million.

The PS5 should now be on track to fulfill its previously reduced output. Other figures included in the analysis. The number of PS Plus subscribers has decreased from 48 million in Q3 2021 to 46.4 million in Q3 2022. The number of active monthly users on the Playstation Network has increased by one million to 112 million.

The PS4 and PS5 software sales fell dramatically from 92.7 to only 86.5 million copies, which certainly has to do with the poor release year – 2022 saw the release of dozens of first-party titles that were postponed for the remainder of the year.
