A Magnitude 5.0 Earthquake Struck Romania
A 5.0-magnitude earthquake was recorded on Saturday night in Eastern Romania. This was reported by the National Institute of Earth Physics, which called it "significant."
According to him, the tremor was registered at a depth of 22 km at 01:04 local time (local time coincides with Moscow time) in the seismic zone of Vrancea, in Galac County. There were no reports of casualties or damage.
Earlier, the European-Mediterranean seismological center reported an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.9 near the border with Moldova - 5 km northeast of the city of Tecuc with a population of 41,2 thousand people. The earthquake was centered at a depth of 23 km.
