The Boogeyman, a new Stephen King film from 20th Century Studios, has received its first trailer. The horror film was originally scheduled to air on Hulu, but is now set to premiere in cinemas on 2 June 2023, following positive testing screenings and approval from Stephen King himself.
The synopsis is as follows:
The Boogeyman, directed by Rob Savage, stars Sophie Thatcher (Yellowjackets) and Chris Messina (Birds of Prey), as well as Marin Ireland (Y: The Last Man, The Umbrella Academy), and Vivien Lyra Blair (Bird Box, Mr. Corman).
The script was edited by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods (A Quiet Place), Akela Cooper (Malignant) and Mark Heyman (Black Swan). Stranger Things is a film directed by 21 Laps' Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, and Dan Cohen.
The Boogeyman's original short story was first published in 1973, before being included in Stephen King's Night Shift collection in 1978. This is the first live-action adaptation.
