According to a job posting, re-eckoning developer Kaiko is working on "THQ Nordic's high-end action-adventure software."
Kaiko, the studio that created Re-Reckoning, Red Faction Guerrilla Re-MARS-tered, Darksiders Warmastered Edition, and Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition, has posted a number of job openings for the game.
This is a "original franchise," according to the announcements, which will not be another remaster of the THQ Nordic game, but rather a new original sequel or remake of the THQ Nordic game.
The release of Kaiko's next remaster, Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning, received mixed reviews. Big Huge Games and 38 Studios laid off all of their staff shortly after the release of the original game.
THQ Nordic acquired the rights to Kingdoms of Amalur in 2018, and the company has stated its intention to release a remaster, although it will need publisher EA's approval first.
