Nomad Games and Dovetail Games have confirmed that the CATAN Console Edition will be released on February 28. The digital version of the board game will be available on PS5, PS4, and Xbox One, as well as Xbox Series X|S.
The console version of CATAN is built differently from the VR version. For example, in VR, you sit at a virtual table, but in the console version, there are tiles that rise up, around which NPCs roam. Additionally, players will be able to monitor their resources while playing the console version of CATAN without the need for an app.
Players must build settlements, cities, and roads to enliven the island of Catan they must inhabit by spending resources, earning them on hexes adjacent to their settlements, and spending tactically to win ten victory points — one for each settlement they own, two for each city, and bonus points for the most extensive roads and largest army.
