First off, yes, I held my phone from my face during the moment I was asleep. Laugh at me at any rate, but I've read the short story this was based on, and I have a newborn at home. I'll be checking my little boy's crib several times this evening.
Speaking of the short story, fellow fans will no doubt wonder if things will unfold as they do on the page. If so, then this is one of the rare occasions when a film's trailer did an excellent job of keeping some key plot turns hidden.
The Boogeyman appears to be a scary good time in either direction.
