Annie Wersching, an actress best known for her roles in The Last of Us, 24, Bosch, and more, died at the age of 45 (via Deadline). Wersching's publicist says she passed away from cancer in 2020. She had previously been diagnosed with the condition in The Vampire Diaries. She played Renee Walker in 24, Leslie Dean in Marvel's Runaways, and Lily Salvatore in The Vampire Diaries.

Despite her diagnosis, Wersching continued to perform in roles such as the Borg Queen in Star Trek: Picard and Rosalind Dyer in The Rookie.

Wersching's memories have already been shared on social media by fans and colleagues. Neil Druckmann, the director of The Last of Us, wrote about her, adding, "We just lost a beautiful artist and human being."

Seit Wersching's passing, a GoFundMe page has been established for her three children and husband. A description of the page states that the funds raised will enable the family to continue to operate while she is gone.

"It's so they can continue to attend baseball games (Go Cardinals!) and play little league," according to the GoFundMe page. "It's so Steve can continue Annie's tradition of stuffed life balloons in the car for birthday mornings. It's to give them time to explore life as a family of four without the burden of paying medical expenses or funeral expenses," says the author.
