Recap of Poker Face Episode 3
'The Stall' begins with George Boyle, the co-owner of Boyle's BBQ, declaring that he is a murderer. Charlie arrives in Texas and is confronted with a dog that refuses to leave the restaurant. She accepts a job at the restaurant to pay them.
Charlie gives George a set of DVDs with films about animals or pets. George begins to believe that he is nothing short of a murderer as he is killing many animals for making food. Taffy tells him that he will no longer be able to run the business. Mandy, George's wife, records a sixteen-minute segment while he leaves the station.
Taffy removes a floss string from the inside of George's trailer and fills the same with smoke, killing his brother, who was already unconscious after drinking poisoned beer. The sheriff, who is a regular at the joint, declares his death a suicide.
How Does Charlie Solve George's Murder in Poker Face Episode 3?
Charlie knows that her friend never intended to kill himself, but she does discover that a dog hit by a pecan tree remains hidden beneath George's trailer.
Charlie spots a dog tooth in the nearby grill, and suspects Taffy to be the perpetrator. She smells the same, notices the residue at the lock, and suspects Taffy to be the culprit, but his radio station alibi puzzles her. She performs a test herself to see if it is possible to leave the station, kill George, and kill the dog within sixteen minutes.
Charlie recognizes that Taffy did not kill George on his own, thus she seeks the help of Austin to prove that she is also involved in the killing plot. She calls her impersonator Taffy only for her to accidentally confess to killing George.
Mandy tries to exploit Charlie's findings by allowing the sheriff to detained Taffy, believing that his arrest would protect her. However, Charlie and Austin depose Mandy's confession, which results in her being detained.
What Are the Reasons for Taffy and Mandy's Death?
Taffy decides to kill George when the latter tells him that he wants to sell his share of the joint. Only for George to state that he has already approached a company to investigate the accounts of the joint in order to proceed with the sale.
Taffy may have already used the joint's accounts for personal use. Taffy's introduction demonstrates in detail that he is neck-deep in debts, and George may discover the same if he checks the joint's accounts. Taffy may have been concerned about George's financial troubles and how it has impacted his earnings or savings. Taffy is encouraged by Mandy to leave the house and move to a random city of George's choice.
Mandy has dedicated herself to making Boyle's BBQ a success. They even stay together. Especially since Taffy has demonstrated how incapable she is of making Boyle's BBQ a success.
