The Dead Space update 1.000.002 day one patch has been released by Motive Studio, which is a small download. Note that those who connect online will automatically download the update.

Motive Studio and EA have not commented on what this patch is for, but chances are, it's for issues related to loading from checkpoints, as well as other minor issues we encountered during our review.
Our review of Dead Space 2023 is now live, and we were very impressed with it thus far.
We'll post updates when we learn more about the patch.
