Samsung has just unveiled its new 200-megapixel image sensor, called the ISOCELL HP2, which is equipped with advanced pixel technology and, due to its full power, is capable of taking stunning pictures with future premium smartphones.
Samsung Electronics' Executive Vice President is JoonSeo Yim.
The ISOCELL HP2 has 200 million 0.6 micron pixels (m) in a 1/1.3 inch optical format. This is a standard sensor size used in the latest high-end smartphones. This enables that a higher resolution than before may be achieved without the camera influencing the design of the devices.
The HP2 sensor is even more versatile thanks to Tetrapixel's pixel binning technique. In low-light situations, the sensor switches to a 1.2m 50-megapixel mode to reduce cropping, allowing you to capture more of a scene.
