The Last of Us, the current HBO series, has reached a whole new level of popularity, and Neil Druckmann is speaking out about this series as well as another.
The Last of Us' two parts aren't already popular, but the current HBO series gives it more pushback. In this regard, Neil Druckmann, the CEO of Naughty Dog, has spoken with Buzzfeed on the subject.
One thing seems certain: There will certainly not be another Uncharted from Naughty Dog. Druckmann says clearly: That's all we're going to do, and that's all we're going to do in the future. There have already been some unconfirmed speculations about a reboot of Uncharted, although in the hands of another, newly established Sony studio.
The Last of Us looks a bit different, but there is still the possibility of a sequel. “With The Last of Us, our strategy is the same as with Part 2, but when we come up with a compelling narrative with a universal message and a statement of love, we will tell this story,” said Druckmann.
After all, The Last of Us has no end, Naughty Dog is working on a multiplayer game that is slated to be the studio's most ambitious game to date. Players will experience a completely different narrative and characters that have not previously been shown in The Last of Us.
Druckmann says the next Last of Us game will be a multiplayer experience where you can go into the world of The Last of Us with a friend and experience the thrill and brutality of that world — and a brand new one story and a new cast of characters. At the moment, we can relax with the series.
