Hi-Fi Rush, a third-person sci-fi action game with a visual style similar to Jet Set Radio, is the next game from Tango Gameworks.

Xbox has just held its first Developer_Direct, which covered Redfall, Minecraft Legends, and Forza Motorsport. While most of the titles were confirmed before the show even began, there were a few surprises, including the announcement of Tango Gameworks' next game.

Chai is played by Robbie Daymond, a wannabe rock star who wants to be a millionaire. Rhythm moves the world around and plays a key role in combat, as attacks become more powerful when beaten to the beat. The biggest surprise is that Hi-Fi Rush will be released within a few hours.

Xbox has only officially announced Hi-Fi Rush today, but it's been a relatively secret for a while now. A trademark for the game was first revealed online two years ago, and a trademarked logo appeared late last year. The concept art for the project was also spotted online, which seemed to confirm earlier reports that the game was a third-person action game inspired by Jet Set Radio.
