THQ Nordic, a publisher, has announced the release of the previously announced update for the Steam version of the Piranha Bytes fantasy role-playing action game Risen, developed by the German studio Piranha Bytes (Gothic, ELEX series). The update was even larger than originally planned.

As it became known, the update includes support for DirectInput controllers, Russian language (voice and text), which was previously unavailable on Steam, Steam achievements and cloud saves, as well as Rich Presence technology.

The authors addressed gameplay and technical (sound, physics) issues, moved Risen to a new assembly with 64-bit support, improved the field of view adjustment, and moved saves to a new folder (PC, Steam Deck).

Risen has significantly increased in price (not only in Russia) since the patch was received. If it had been sold on Russian Steam until recently for 249 rubles (62 rubles during the winter sale), then the cost will have already risen to 550 rubles starting January 24.

Risen first appeared on PC and Xbox 360 in October 2009, before launching on January 24, 2023, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. A fresh update for the PC version is scheduled to coincide with the new console's release.
