The spoilers in this recap of National Treasure: Edge of History Season 1 Episode 8, "Prison Break"

By all accounts, getting out of jail is somewhat difficult. They're primarily designed to make that difficult. But getting back out again does seem to be a minor inconvenience, at least for the time being.

Recap of the Season 1 episode 8 of National Treasure: Edge of History

Jess thinks that Billie will take an attack on her father's life, but she does want to teach him something about losing his brother, Sebastian.

Billie has had her whole "frenemies" arc in Episode 6, and now she's reverting to brass tacks. She's worth it.

Oren is the only member of Jess' Scooby group who believes the prison break is a terrible idea, so he returns to the United States after guiding the others in how to get inside. Tasha is a gifted hacker, and she can use a modified algorithm to empty one of the pipes to allow Jess to get in and get Rafael back.

Rafael is in the midst of his own escape attempt, while Jess was figuring out how to escape her. She has to follow Rafael's route, which involves wriggling through a pleasant tunnel, passing through the old cell block, and finally killing the sniper with a piece of metal.

Liam and Myles have teamed up in Stateside in order to track Jess down. This involves ambushing a couple of her goons, which would be dangerous anyway without Liam being completely incapable of stopping himself from doing that whole "answering the phone to the villain after taking out one of their henchmen."

Jess and Rafael are able to escape from prison after someone shot and killed the sniper who was seconds away from killing Rafael. They return to the United States where the FBI is waiting for them, then run another brief errand until Billie intervenes.

Rafael had received a few shoes that he had mistaken for divine intervention, but they were actually gifts from Billie, who had placed a tracker in them. Kacey shot the sniper, allowing Jess and Rafael to escape. Billie was bidding her time so that the two of them might discover the opened puzzle boxes.

Jess surrenders, leaving the episode on a sticky note as we get closer to the season finale.
