Riot Games: League of Legends and TFT source code is stolen, and the cheat risk rises ...

Riot Games has updated its players on the hacker attack that occurred a few days ago, revealing that the bad guys obtained the copy of League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, and a disused anticaat system, which might increase the spread of cheaters.

Riot Games confirmed the cyber attack on January 20, 2023. At the time, investigations were just beginning, but the business immediately stated that users' personal data had not been taken, and this fact has now been repeated.

Riot admits that hackers have approached it, but it will not bow to their requests. However, the company concedes that the cyberattack increases the likelihood that they will discover a nuovi cheat per League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics.

"We wanted to keep you updated on the progress of the cyberattack last week. Over the weekend, our analysis confirmed that source code for League, TFT, and a legacy anti-cheat platform were exported by the attackers. Today we received a ransom email." said Riot Games.

“Any exposure to source code increases the likelihood of new cheats becoming.”

Riot has announced that it would continue to investigate and distribute additional reports to players in the near future, which include the attack, the damage it caused, and what the company will do next to improve security.
