Erykah Badu and her daughter Puma Curry have responded to the backlash shown by a photo of herself and her mother posing their derrières in tight-leggings.

In a subsequent post, the 18-year-old addressed the criticism behind her viral Instagram photo, declaring that she's an adult while encouraging others to express their opinions in the comment section.

Curry defended her mother against accusations of exploiting her daughter for financial gain, pointing out that it was not Badu who shared the photo.

“I posted a photo (not my mom) of me and my mama badu in cute form fitting pants,” she wrote in a note from January 23, 2023, which was timestamped at 9:32 PM.

Badu responded, saying, "Well..." while reportedly waiting for someone to accept her daughter's opinions regarding the photo's negative perceptions. Puma's father, rapper The D.O.C., appeared to follow Badu's lead and mimicked hers with his own. This prompted the R&B singer to consider the famous writer "the best."

Badu continued to lash out at those who booed her on her own Instagram account, saying, "Girls, mind, spirit $" and "wait till y'all see out insides (heart, mind, spirit $)." The 51-year-old joked that she'll show y'all a sonogram X-ray of her colon next year.

Puma is the only child of Badu and The D.O.C., who were romantically involved in the early '00s. The couple eventually split ways, but remain friendly, according to the Dallas native previously told HipHopDX. "She's just as cool as a**k."

Badu shares with Andre 3000 her youngest daughter, Mars Merkaba, her oldest child.
