The reductions have had an impact on 343; is Halo's future in jeopardy? ...

Microsoft has laid off more than 10,000 employees in the last year, including members of Xbox studios, including 343 Industries, a group that, according to an IGN USA report, would have been particularly affected by the early January bonuses.

Despite the layoffs, 343 will continue to support the franchise to the best of its ability, according to a message published on the company's social profiles.

According to a new assessment, the situation would not be as rosy and in general it seems that Microsoft has dismissed many employees in various departments of the studio, with over thirty layoffs only in the graphic, artistic, and special effects departments. Many employees who worked on the SlipSpace Engine would also be fired, as well as game designers, producers, and engineers.

According to what was claimed by a close confidant to the studio, 343 would now have the "widest part of a publishing team," and many believe that Microsoft intends to change its strategy, having Halo developed by a pool of external studios with 343 Industries as the coordination center for operations. For the time being, 343 Industries disputes this assumption and says it will continue to support the Halo series.
