Justin Roiland, the creator and voice of each of the title characters, has announced that Grownup Swim's relationship with the company. He is currently dealing with felony home violence costs, according to Marie Moore, the company's senior vice president of communications.

Without Roiland's involvement, Rick and Morty's roles would be reimagined, and co-creator Dan Harmon would serve as the sequence's sole creator.

Roiland is accused of felony home assault charges related to a January 2020 incident, according to a county’s district attorney's complaint in Might 2020 in Orange County, California. If convicted, Roiland may face years in prison.

The rest of the artistic crew is currently growing season 7 of the present. Season 6 premiered in September 2022 and ran for 10 episodes. Grownup Swim ordered an additional 70 episodes of Rick and Morty in 2018, which might extend the present by season 10.
