A Tragic Tale About Seath Jackson's Murder
Seath Jackson, a youngster who lived in Belleview, Florida, was assassinated by five others as a result of a horrific encounter between Seath and Amber Wright and Michael Bargo ten years ago. The murder was part of a terrible escalation that culminated in a tragic conclusion.
Amber and Seath met in March 2011, and the relationship blossomed into a social media outburst and a real-life outburst. One night, Amber lured Seath to her female friend Charlie Ely's house and was jumped and killed.
The death of Seath was especially shocking for many reasons, including the sheer brutality of the assassination, as well as the fact that he was only 25 years old and his assailants.
A Tragic Tale About Seath Jackson's Murder
Amber, then 15, murdered Seath, then 15; Michael, then 18; Amber's stepbrother Kyle Hooper, then 16; Justin Soto, then 20; and Amber's female friend Charlie Ely, then 18, in April 2011.
Amber and Seath began e-mailing deranged messages on Facebook. Amber started dating Michael, who incorrectly assumed Seath had molested her. At the time, Charlie Ely and Kyle Hooper lived at Charlie's house.
Michael had threatened to kill Seath a week before the murder, and Kyle was also enraged at Seath because he was in bed with a girl that he liked. On April 17, 2011, Michael and the others devised a plot to lure and murder Seath.
Amber texted Seath under the guise of resolving their differences and reuniting. She lured him to Charlie's house, where he was shot many times with a 22-caliber rifle.
Justin and Michael went to an Ocala quarry, dumped Seath's remains into paint buckets, and dumped them into the sea with cinderblocks weighing them down, and cleaned up the house of blood using bleach. Evidence of the crime was later discovered.
Michael's DNA would be discovered in a blood mixture in the bathroom, while Charlie's would be discovered in a blood mixture in the living room, which also contained Seath's blood. The 22-caliber bullet was also identified by detectives.
Amber was found guilty of murder in the death of Seath Jackson and sentenced to life in prison in 2012. The prosecution claimed the killing was the most horrifying crime in her 15 years as a judge.
After her first conviction was overturned by an appellate court, Wright was recalled for a retrial in 2016. Judge Anthony Tatti sentenced her to life in prison once more.
Tatti said, "I have not seen or heard anything more despicable than what led to Seath Jackson's death." I pray to my God that the reason behind all this is some chemical imbalance or a brain that hasn't matured. It's really difficult to imagine that such an evil might exist without an explanation. "It's very difficult to comprehend what it's like to live."
Amber's prison sentence will be reviewed after 25 years, so she will have it reviewed in 2041. Prison records show that she is stationed in the Miami-Dade County jail.
Both were sentenced to life in prison. Charlie's conviction was later overturned in 2020, leading to a guilty plea of a lesser charge and subsequent release.
Michael Bargo, who was found guilty of first-degree murder in August 2013 for his role as the ringleader and murderer of Seath Jackson, was sentenced to death by a circuit court.
The Florida Supreme Court resentencing him as the recommendation wasn't unanimous, and in 2019 a jury unanimously resentenced him to death.
According to Florida's Department of Corrections website, Bargo appealed this decision and filed an appeal with the Florida Supreme Court, citing his mental health as a mitigating factor. In 2021, the justices upheld the death sentence in a 6-1 decision.
He is the youngest person to be sentenced to death row. According to the Death Penalty Information Center, there were 323 people in Florida on death row at the end of 2022, compared to 338 in 2021. This is the highest number on death row in the United States, with California having 690 people on death row at the end of 2022.
