Millions of people have been turned upside down by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as well as those who, like the 4A Games team, were preparing to develop the sequel to Metro Exodus: the Kiev developers state that their next project is still in the works, although it will reflect the horrors of war.
4A Games' lengthy open letter states that the company is still working on the Metro series' new video games, and that "our projects continue to be successful." "Our next video game in the Metro series is changing, and it's doing it for the better. "Our next video game in the Metro series is changing, and it's doing it for the better. Because of the strong political and pragmatic message that has always distinguished the Metro series."
The 4A Games employees explain that "the Ukrainian conflict made us reconsider the kind of story we should have told in the next Metro." This includes working remotely from Ukraine, rocket attacks, air raid sirens, family relocation, and water and electricity interruptions. It's our "new" normal... but there's nowhere else like it.
4A Games sends out a statement also revealing the Metro Exodus editor, a software tool that will allow all content creators to create mods, fan made expansions, total conversions, and free video games using the post-apocalyptic shooter's graphics engine.
