Players in Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA 5)'s online multiplayer mode, GTA Online, have recently discovered a vulnerability that might potentially cause your accounts to be compromised. Fortunately, Rockstar Games is aware of the issue and is working on a fix for the GTA Online account lock glitch in an upcoming title update.

The bug seems to permit hackers to alter or modify a player's stats as well as the ability to sabotage another player's account, potentially resulting in a ban or deletion of your account.

PC gamers will want to play with their firewall enabled in order to be on the safe side. This exploit is very concerning because it can result in a ban.

Rockstar issued a statement recently addressing the issue, stating that a future title update should remedy the issue.

This update isn't expected to be released until the studio has stated when this update will be available, although the studio hopes to release it very soon. Until the update drops, you're probably better off picking up another game or playing solo in single-player.
