The absence of a game mode was especially criticized when Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was released. Infinity Ward will be releasing this shortly, so players will now be heard.
Call of Duty is released every year and is a bit like fast food. Quickly digestible shooter fare with no big surprises. And if something unexpected happens, it can cause dissatisfaction among the players. For example, with the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, last year, the multiplayer section of the new offshoot was missing the hardcore mode!

Infinity Ward appears to have gotten fed up with veterans' complaints. Hardcore will be back, according to a tweet. "No HUD? No problem!" says the author.
Hardcore was not only characterized by the absence of a HUD, but also players' appreciation for the significantly reduced time to kill. However, previous series parts have already mitigated the extreme challenge somewhat. Suddenly several hits were needed to kill, which of course the community did not like.
Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 was initially scheduled to begin on February 1, 2023. However, Activision has recently announced that it will finish the season on February 15th. Is hardcore mode to blame for the change? Only the developers themselves know.
