Is The Last of Us hype still going on?
The great euphoria surrounding The Last of Us (buy now) has lost most of its initial momentum, as shown by the unchanged fan rating of 96% on Rottentomatoes.
The Internet Movie Database is similarly impressive. For the big launch, The Last of Us was able to achieve a remarkable 9.6. However, other HBO series such as House of the Dragon (8.5) or Westworld (8.5) are unable to keep up.

The Last of Us series has had two out of nine episodes shown on HBO Max, with the grand finale of the first season scheduled for March 12, 2023. Only recently there was a preview video of the next episodes to see. Whether or when a second season will follow will depend on the series' success.
