Thunderful only made an alarming announcement last week, but now the cat is out of the bag: Steamworld Build is heading in a completely new direction: another two Metroidvanias, cool round tactics, tower defense, and a card battler are waiting for you... a comfortable build-up strategy game! With a twist, Steamworld Build combines relaxed city building like in Anno with popular Dungeon Keeper gameplay.
The setting should appeal to Steamworld Dig followers, as we expect a lively and wild west fusion. We build houses and connect them with highways, lumberjacks and sawmills supply lumber and raw materials, and our tin buckets cover the liquid needs of cactus farms. More demanding engineers also demand hard liquor, while a factory produces new glass bottles from desert sand.
Anno is above, but also below Dungeon Keeper.
Steamworld Build has a special feature: Robots feel like leaving the planet. A valuable technology that is buried deep within the settlement. How wonderful that there is an old mine shaft nearby! Through this, we can now mark the ground block by block and explore new ones and accommodations, acting as a Dungeon Keeper light. Extractors may also be used to create new rooms and accommodations.

PC users may get a demo version.
Short: a fun and easy concept! It's also possible to try it out: There's already a small demo on Steam that will keep you busy for 30 to 60 minutes. You can also try out the subterranean game level. The final game should also have three difficulty levels so that beginners and pros get their money's worth.
The Station, a 40-strong Swedish team that has been part of Thunderful since 2020, is planning a release date for the building game in 2023, and it will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series S / X, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The developers designed the user interface for PC and consoles right from the start, making the game as easy to use as a gamepad.
