Here's a cool new game from an interesting publisher. Mixi Inc., which is well-known for the mobile game Monster Strike, is making its debut in the PC game Asym Altered Axis.
Asym Altered Axis is a game that combines a base builder with a cooperative heist strategy. One player constructs the world and sets traps and guards. So that another player, or a team of up to five players, may try their luck and raid them.
The raiders operate in the third person, while the builder is floating high above in the first person, with the ability to add traps on the fly.
It's an interesting idea, and Mixi is describing it as a "cross-genre asymmetric heist game." On paper at least, the concept is not too different from Behavior Interactive's next game, Meet Your Maker.
Asym Altered Axis is currently hosting a demonstration as part of the Steam Base Builder Fest, which runs until January 30, 10 AM PST (January 31, 2 AM Malaysia Time, +8 GMT).
