Nintendo must prepare for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's coming soon. Breath of the Wild had the effect of a bomb, whether or not you are a fan of the license.
The Kingdom's Zelda Tears: Is It as Popular As It Is?
The Nintendo Switch has sold more than 7 million copies in France since its release in 2017; globally, we have sold 119 million units—the third highest-selling console in video game history.
Oscar Lemaire, a well-known journalist, claims that the Nintendo console has already surpassed the legendary Wii U, but not yet the Nintendo DS, which stands proudly at the top of the game's sales in mid-2021. Many players also embarked on the quest when Tears of the Kingdom was announced.
Breath of the Wild was also available on Wii U, although it is unclear how much revenue it generated (1.3 million on Wii U). For the time being, Nintendo was able to guarantee a high quality console manufacturing, despite the shortage of components. Even Sony, a major Japanese manufacturer, had some difficulties during the 2019-2022 period.
Nintendo has sold Zelda Tears of the Kingdom as the sequel to a first adventure, allowing for a bit of a split among those who didn't enjoy the first part. There's no doubt that the first hour of fans will have their Tears of the Kingdom on their list of Zelda games to finish in 2023.
Zelda Windwaker was released on Gamecube and its follower Zelda Phantom Hourglass, after seeing the light of day on Nintendo DS. For the first time, we find something similar to Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask since Tears of the Kingdom will land on the same platform as its predecessor.
There's still time to get your Nintendo Switch before the Zelda release.
Nintendo's effective marketing and word of mouth have enabled the Japanese manufacturer to emulate and retain new players. Every semester, Nintendo is praising their numbers, according to the Bloomberg newspaper. Before the release of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, Nintendo has already communicated to its suppliers a much greater number of consoles.
The Nintendo Switch has still suffered the Covid's flaws on a more modest scale, but the Japanese company is sure that this new exclusive title will increase their sales even further next March.
The current version was soon followed by a lower-cost Lite version, as well as an OLED version with enhanced gaming capabilities. Bloomberg reports that the three models will be mass-produced by the deadline, in May 2023.
