Larry Wilmore will host the Podcast Academy Awards, also known as the Ambies, in 2023.

The Podcast Academy Awards will be held at the International Theater in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 7.

The ceremony and awards pre-show will be live streamed on Twitch at 4:30 p.m. PT.

Recent reports suggest that Larry Wilmore will take the stage at this year's event.

Donald Albright, the chairperson of The Podcast Academy and the CEO of Tenderfoot TV, talked about Wilmore hosting the awards.

'Larry's prolific body of work and distinctive humor spans the stage, screen, and podcasting,' he said. To say that we are fortunate to have him host this year's Ambies is an understatement.

'He's an icon in his own right. We cannot wait to see — and hear — what he'll bring to the ceremony,' Albright added.

Last year, the podcast 9/12 won the Ambie Award with the most awards, including Rosamund Pike's participation in QCode's Edith.

The Mayan Theater in Los Angeles hosted the Ambie Awards 2022.

Elister Larry Wilmore was born on the 30th of October 1961 in Los Angeles County, California, to parents Betty and Larry. He was raised in Pomona, California, but he was raised there.

In 1979, he attended Damien High School in La Verne, California.

Wilmore attended Pomona State University, where he majored in theater. However, he dropped out of college to pursue acting and stand-up comedy.

In a previous interview, he described himself as a geek.

'It's okay to be a nerd and be black,' he said.
