The Arab Coalition Extended The Ceasefire In Yemen For A Month

The representative of the Arab coalition, Colonel Turki al-Maliki, said that the leadership decided to extend the ceasefire," based on its previous announcement on April 8 of a two-week ceasefire, at the request of the special envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Yemen, Martin Griffiths."

The coalition emphasizes that this decision is an indicator of "the seriousness and desire of the Arab coalition to alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Yemeni people and take measures to counter the pandemic and prevent its spread in the Holy month of Ramadan," according to the Saudi news agency SPA.

Colonel al-Maliki added that the "Alliance to restore legitimacy in Yemen" sees a prospect for achieving a full ceasefire in Yemen, as well as for further agreeing on "concrete and direct steps," together with the United Nations.
