James Gunn Dispels Superman Casting Rumors ...

James Gunn responded to Superman casting rumors, and it appears like Jacob Elordi and Elliot Page aren't interested in taking the role.

Gunn tweeted in response to a series of edited photos showing Elordi as the Man of Steel. "Casting, as is almost always the case with me, will take place after the script is completed or near-finished, which is not the case."

As part of James Gunn and Peter Safran's new DC Extended Universe project, Henry Cavill's Man of Steel 2 was canceled in December. Elordi, who is well-known for playing sociopath and footballer Nate Jacobs on HBO's Euphoria, was immediately embraced by fans as the young Clark Kent. There have also been wilder rumors that Gunn might cast Elliot Page as a young Superman.

Gunn and Safran also canceled Wonder Woman 3, although Gunn later confirmed that Wonder Woman would be included in DC's new lineup in some capacity.
