Shiftall unveiled an unusual Mutalk wireless microphone at CES 2023.
The device appears to be a virtual reality headset, but the wearer's gaze is fixed not on the eyes, but on the mouth. The device completely closes the jaw and muffles the user's speech and ambient noise.
Mutalk reduces speech by an average of 20 dB when loud.
The device has a built-in battery that charges via USB-C. It can last up to eight hours without recharging, and connects via Bluetooth or via a standard headset jack.
Windows, iOS, and Android have support.
Mutalk is priced as much as $200. It will be on sale this year.
