After the last episode of the third season was released in Japan on September 19, 2020, a new anime adaptation of the spin-off light novel Sword Art Online: Progressive was announced. The sequel was announced under the title Sword Art Online Progressive: Scherzo of Deep Night in October 2022.

As you can see, the film will be released in Western cinemas starting in February. The United Kingdom will see the film first on February 1, followed by Australia and New Zealand on February 2, and finally the United States on February 3. This is not discrimination at all.
Crunchyroll has officially announced that the ticket sale for Sword Art Online Progressive: Scherzo of Deep Night in the United States has begun, some three weeks before the official US premiere, scheduled for February 3, 2023. The film will be available in several US theaters, but it may remain on the schedule for at least another week.
