Bloodborne at 60 frames per second is just two lines of code from becoming the PS5 port we all desire, according to a respected modder.

Bloodborne was released for PS4 in 2015 and quickly became one of FromSoftware's most popular songs.

The haunting gothic vibe enticed Dark Souls veterans as well as new fans. However, the framerate isn't as smooth as fans would like.

A PS5 patch has benefitted many games.

Fans of FromSoftware have been requesting a new-gen patch since the PlayStation 5's release in 2020.

The PS5 patch for first-party Sony titles like God of War (2018), Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last of Us: Remastered, Part 2 and Days Gone has all been free.

The new-gen patch allowed PS4 first-party titles on PS5 to be played at a higher resolution of 60 frames per second. Thus, you were playing the finest version of the game on the console.

Bloodborne has yet to receive the benefit of this patch.

The Bloodborne patch is in the works, and fans are waiting for it.

Since FromSoftware had not given Bloodborne the special patch treatment at the time of writing, it's still unknown why.

Despite the fact that some may argue that the author intends to re-release a native PS5 port as a standalone game, this port might have already been released. Yet, if that was the case, perhaps the game might have arrived by now.

Lance McDonald, a well-known modder, believes that enabling Bloodborne to run at a steady 60fps is easier than some might imagine.

Bloodborne's stuttering framerate was attributed to its faulty game engine, according to a Twitter post. McDonald replied to the tweet and stated that this was not the case.

McDonald replied, "I don't know where the 'FromSoftware engine is messy / spaghetti code' concept comes from." "There are literally zero technical barriers between Bloodborne and a PC/60fps PS5 port/re-release. Sony may do it at any time they want without From's assistance."

"A 60fps patch for the PS4 version is two lines of code that need to be changed. Japan Studio had a build of the game that was running on Windows 7 when they were shut down, and Sony probably has that build sitting in their archives, as well as all the source."

Will the PS5 patch ever arrive?

McDonald believes that a PS5 patch and/or a PC port of Bloodborne is "very likely."

If such a scenario happens, it remains to be seen whether a PS5 version will be released as a free upgrade or as a standalone PS5 release.

Bloodborne can be played on PC, technically. However, there is a caveat.

Bloodborne can only be played on PC via streaming, and you will also need a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription to play it.
