Kanye West has finally revealed that Sway Calloway may have been the one who had the answers all along.
Ye gave further insight into his long-running relationship with The Gap and his departure from the brand during a Thursday (September 22) interview with Good Morning America, including his issue with Adidas.
"It was all a displeasure for the voice of something that I co-created. I co-created the product at Adidas." he added. "That means that I was there for some specific agenda, not for Yeezy Gap to be everything it could be, or this fantasism that I had about the Gap."
Kanye said politely that his team "has new lawyers."
“We had to level up and show them who's the new boss in town.” I'm not just a mascot in the middle of the games, getting the crowd hyped up by saying, 'Hey, wear this, do this,' but you know, learn financial engineering.
The 45-year-old Chicago native explained how he intends to run his YZY brand independently, to which West admitted to GMA that journalist Calloway had the answers all along.
“You know what? I will go ahead and say that Sway had the answer,” the Jesus Is King artist admitted.
After Calloway asked him why he doesn't make YZY pop by himself, his answer referred to the rapper's famous 2013 "How, Sway?" rant.
”Why don’t you empower yourself and people who don’t need them and do it yourself?” the host of Sway in the Morning asked a decade ago, unknowingly anticipating West's future brand problems.
Ye discussed his co-parenting with Kim Kardashian and apologized for the "stress" he had caused her in the past year.
“I need this person to be less stressed and of the best, sound mind, and as calm as possible to be able to raise my kids at the end of the day.”
West's GMA appearance follows his much-publicized departure from The Gap. Last week, the New York Times reported that West wrote a letter of termination to the retail brand, citing a contract breach.
"And everyone knows that I'm the leader. I'm the king, right?" said the producer, doubling down on his newly found fashion independence.
